Victory Playing Cards

Victory Playing Cards is a limited edition release from Joker and the Thief, created as a deeply personal homage to family, legacy and quiet perseverance.

The name “Victory” honours founder James Milaras’ grandparents, Greek immigrants who built and ran a beloved fish and chips shop in Far North Queensland throughout the 1980s and 90s. The shop became a local institution in the port town of Cairns, known for its quality, consistency and service. This deck carries that same spirit, hard work, resilience and pride in craft.

Visually, Victory leans into classic typography and ornate detailing, echoing traditional shopfront signage and heritage design. The tuck box is rich with embossing, interior and exterior foil, metallic inks and letterpress printing, creating a layered, tactile experience in hand. It feels refined without being overstated.

The back design is borderless, allowing the artwork to flow cleanly during fans and spreads, while the cards are finished with a Svelte Smooth Finish for a crisp, fluid handling feel.
