Malakim Gilded - The Eye of the Ocean is the second chapter in Malakim’s ongoing archaeological adventure, following the original Eye of the Ocean series released in 2021.

This 2024 edition draws on themes of maritime exploration and celestial navigation, combining antique map aesthetics with detailed illustrative storytelling. Every card is fully customised, with bespoke faces, courts, aces and extra cards, designed to work together as part of a larger visual narrative.

A key feature of the deck is its jigsaw-style concept: when arranged correctly, all 56 cards combine to form a complete map of the island, turning the deck itself into an interactive artefact.

The backs feature gold foil detailing, complemented by metallic red gilded edges. The tuck box is equally elaborate, with multiple hot foil applications, embossing, internal print, and a custom opening mechanism. Printed in Italy and PRC, The Eye of the Ocean is built as a collector-focused release, balancing craftsmanship, illustration, and concept-driven design.
