Smoke & Mirrors Playing Cards (1984 Casino Edition)

A retro casino interpretation of one of modern cardistry’s best-known deck series, Smoke & Mirrors 1984 Blue Playing Cards combine the unmistakable Dan & Dave aesthetic with the stripped-back style of 1980s casino cards.

The 1984 Casino Edition takes Smoke & Mirrors in a deliberately different direction. Rather than the intricate patterns associated with many editions in the series, the back uses a bold blue field, white border and minimalist D&D monogram. The result feels like a deck you might have discovered on a casino table four decades ago, while still retaining the contemporary design sensibility of Smoke & Mirrors.

Produced in collaboration with Hanson Chien, the edition was created with both handling and visual simplicity in mind. The strong blue back and crisp white borders make it particularly attractive for card games, magic and cardistry, while its connection to the wider Smoke & Mirrors series gives it obvious collector appeal.

Production was restricted to exactly 1,984 decks, matching the year that inspired the design and making this a genuinely limited Smoke & Mirrors release.
