Seafarers Playing Cards (Commodore Edition)

A refined nautical statement from Joker and the Thief.

Seafarers: Commodore Edition builds on the brand’s celebrated oceanic design language, inspired by vintage American playing cards and elevated through detailed craftsmanship.

Created in collaboration with artist Gustavo Magalhães, the Commodore Edition features a deep navy colourway complemented by copper metallic ink. The palette feels classic and maritime, while the metallic detailing adds warmth and depth without overpowering the design.

The court cards are fully custom and illustrated from scratch. Elements from the back design carry through the entire deck, with each suit developing its own narrative identity:

• Hearts are entwined with octopus tentacles — a symbol of the sea’s quiet dominance.
• Clubs face the looming threat of serpents, suggesting tension and internal conflict.
• Diamonds take on the role of navigators, marked by skull motifs and guided by compass and flame.
• Spades represent hardened sailors, bound in rope and grounded in survival.

True to Joker and the Thief tradition, one Joker is replaced with the brand’s signature Thief card.

The tuck case is produced on specially dyed paper stock and finished with exterior and interior foil along with extensive embossing. The result is a richly textured presentation that matches the detail within.

Printed on performance stock with a linen glide finish, the Commodore Edition offers smooth handling and durability to match its visual presence.
