Inspired by the atmosphere of a vintage Charleston speakeasy, Rarebit Copper Edition Playing Cards are a discontinued theory11 release combining understated Art Deco styling with beautiful metallic copper detailing.

The Rarebit story began with The Rarebit in Charleston, South Carolina, whose classic restaurant and bar aesthetic provided the inspiration for the original deck. Following the success of that first release, theory11 returned to the concept with this distinctive Copper Edition.

Designed by Charleston-based designer Jay Fletcher, the deck favours elegance over excess. Fine geometric linework, period-inspired typography and a sophisticated black-and-copper palette give Rarebit the appearance of something that might have been sitting behind a 1920s cocktail bar for decades.

The Copper Edition goes beyond an elaborate tuck box. Metallic copper ink is used across both the card backs and faces, complemented by completely custom court cards and carefully considered detailing throughout.

Now discontinued, Rarebit Copper has become a particularly desirable deck for theory11 collectors and anyone looking for some of the company’s harder-to-find earlier releases.

A beautiful example of theory11 design from an era before licensed pop-culture decks became such a major part of the brand, Rarebit Copper is sophisticated, distinctive and unmistakably theory11
