Psychonauts Playing Cards (Art of Play Edition)

Psychonauts: Art of Play Edition is a special collaborative release between Joker and the Thief and Art of Play, presented in an exclusive colourway with a retro letter-pressed tuck box and detailed embossing.

This edition dives headfirst into the visual language of 1960s psychedelia and new age spiritualism, an era of meditation, mysticism, and expanded consciousness. Vibrant, surreal and unapologetically bold, Psychonauts explores reality beyond the limits of the five senses.

Every card is 100% custom and hand-illustrated by in-house designer Pedro Oyarbide. The artwork leans heavily into symbolism, layered detail and flowing, hypnotic forms. The courts are particularly rich in narrative, from Jacks experimenting with altered states to Kings subtly referencing influential philosophical figures. It’s a deck that rewards close inspection.

The tuck box embraces Horror Vacui (Kenophobia), the fear of empty space, resulting in a design packed with intricate detail and almost no negative space. The letterpress printing and embossing elevate the tactile experience, giving the box real presence in hand.
