Lance Mountain Skating Skeletons Playing Cards

Skateboarding stripped right back to the bones. Lance Mountain Skating Skeletons Playing Cards transform iconic photographs from Mountain’s skateboarding career into a completely hand-drawn deck of skeletal artwork.

Every illustration was created by legendary skateboarder and artist Lance Mountain, using Rapidograph technical pens to reinterpret photographs of himself skating as detailed skeleton figures. The result feels less like conventional playing card artwork and more like a portable collection of original skate art.

Each court card features a different illustration, while the suits have also been individually drawn and deliberately aged to complement the deck’s raw, archival aesthetic.

Even the packaging has a story. The textured tuck box was created to reproduce the look and feel of a vintage British motorcycle booklet from Lance Mountain’s personal archive, giving the deck the appearance of an old piece of ephemera rather than a modern pack of cards.
