FULTONAL Photographic Playing Cards

FULTONAL Photographic Playing Cards transform a deck of cards into a miniature photographic exhibition, showcasing two decades of work from photographer and playing card designer Brad Fulton.

Rather than repeating a traditional set of faces throughout the deck, every playing card features a different photograph from Fulton’s archive. The collection reaches from his work with Dan & Dave Buck during the formative years of modern cardistry through to portrait photography created during his time working in Hollywood.

The Standard Edition is presented in the distinctive Fultonal Orange tuck, designed to resemble vintage photographic darkroom chemical packaging. Produced by Clove St. Press in San Diego, the letterpressed box gives the deck an appropriately analogue character that complements the photography inside.

The cards themselves were printed in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company, making FULTONAL an unusual meeting point between photography, playing card culture and Fulton’s own creative history.
