Evil Deck Original Playing Cards

Dark, graphic and deliberately mischievous, the Evil Deck Original Playing Cards are the award-winning 2014 creation of Italian designer Giovanni Meroni.

Built around a playful interpretation of everything wicked, the deck combines stark black-and-white graphics with skulls, bats, blades and other sinister details. Rather than taking itself too seriously, the Evil Deck turns its macabre subject matter into a bold piece of contemporary playing card design.

The tuck is particularly striking, with a near-monochrome design enhanced by UV printing, a custom seal and artwork printed inside the box. The cards continue the distinctive visual language of the project, creating a deck with plenty of personality for collectors as well as something unusual to bring to the card table.

This is the Original 2014 version of the Evil Deck, printed by Expert Playing Card Co. with their Master Finish and containing 54 cards.

Its design also earned significant recognition on release, taking first place in the 2014 Discourse Deck Design Contest.
