Enter the darker side of the early internet with Black Market Digital Playing Cards, the second deck in Thirdway Industries’ Black Market series.

Black Market tells the story of a secretive, libertarian trading organisation operating beyond conventional boundaries. For the Digital Edition, that fictional world moves online, drawing inspiration from the internet culture and digital aesthetics of the 2000s.

As you’d expect from Thirdway Industries, there’s considerably more hidden in the artwork than you’ll notice at first glance. The deck is 100% custom, with its own illustrated faces, backs and packaging, enhanced by a combination of metallic, neon and invisible printing effects.

The cards feature pure silver metallic ink alongside vivid green neon ink, with the green elements reacting under ultraviolet light. But the most interesting details are deliberately concealed: transparent UV artwork has been printed across the tuck, card backs and faces, revealing hidden symbols and details only when viewed under a blacklight.

Printed by the United States Playing Card Company, Black Market Digital combines the familiar handling of a USPCC deck with the elaborate storytelling and hidden details that have become a hallmark of Thirdway Industries.
